Hornets Beat Easton after 20 hour lightning delay

Posted by Emmaus High School Boys Soccer on Sep 12 2019 at 08:06PM PDT in Fall 2019 Season

In a game that started on Wednesday September 11, but was postponed due to lightning with 6 minutes to play in the first half, Emmaus Boys Soccer beat Easton by a score of 5-0. The Hornets controlled the pace of play throughout the game. Junior forward Hudson Peck was awarded the first goal of the game after an own-goal by Easton. Peck scored again, his 5th of the season, from a cross given by senior forward Andrew Gaines across the top of the box through junior midfielder Marco Silva. Junior midfielder Josh Whalen facilitated the 3rd goal of the half, dribbling almost to the post and delivering a ball 6 meters in front of the goal that senior forward Jake Groh hammered into the twine. On the following day and in the second half, Gaines passed to Silva, who turned on the ball and drove it just inside the far post for the 4th goal. Groh finished the scoring for the Hornets, taking a touch off sophomore defender John Hanvey’s cross and scoring his 4th goal of the season. The Hornets record is now 7-0-0.
