The Emmaus Boys Soccer Team traveled to Cedar Crest College on Monday October 7 to defeat Central Catholic 2-0 and close out the regular season. With the win, Coach John Cari earned his 250th career win in his 15th season as Emmaus Head Boys Soccer Coach, for an average of 16.7 wins/season. In a drenching rain, the Hornets dominated possession, and generally controlled the tempo of the game, but couldn’t get on the board until early in the second half. Junior Hudson Peck served a corner kick that junior Pat Walsh charged and chested into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Junior Josh Whalen added an insurance goal later in the half, driving senior AJ Febbraro’s corner to the far side of the goal, to record his first career varsity goal. With the win, Emmaus seems back on track for the playoffs, and closes the regular season with an overall record of 15-3-0 and Eastern Pennsylvania Conference record of 13-3-0. EPC playoffs are scheduled to begin Saturday October 12.
